Having difficulty recruiting hospitality staff? There is good news for food businesses struggling to fill positions. To help address local staff shortages, Chisholm TAFE is delivering a 4-day basic hospitality skills-set program for both young and older job seekers at their Frankston and Rosebud campuses.
The program is designed by industry experts to give students real skills, for the real world, to work confidently in a range of entry level roles across pubs, hotels, restaurants and cafés.
This introductory course into hospitality will provide those new to the industry with basic skills and certification. The course will give students their RSA certificate, Safe Food Handling certificate, basic coffee/barista training along with an introduction to soft skills such as customer service.
Graduates will have a good base knowledge for employers to add to with on-the-job training.
How do businesses get involved?
With both courses already fully booked out with students, there are discussions with Chisholm and other providers to expand this program into the new year and at other locations on the Peninsula. Good news for our local food businesses!
