The Mornington Peninsula business events sector has been hit hard by Covid-19. The good news is that The Victorian Government has provided information for Business Event organisers and COVIDSafe planning by creating a specific update for Business Event Requirements within the public framework.

Business events can be for small teams or large groups. They can be held in various settings – from meeting rooms in hotels, golf courses, galleries, restaurants and cafes, to dedicated conference facilities. Each one has its own requirements to stay COVIDSafe.

Business events are classified into three tiers according to their scale, complexity, and associated risk factors. Each tier is subject to conditions such as attendee numbers, capacity caps or density quotas and setting guidelines for example if the venue is indoors, outdoors and whether the event is seated or free-standing.

Businesses can now access clear definitions of what tier a business event comes under along with detailed advice for Covid Safe planning for Business Events.

Business events can run for an afternoon, a day, or a week, and can be anything from off-site meetings to full blown conferences, light afternoon drinks and snacks to formal sit-down dinners, energetic team building activities to relaxation experiences, with transfers, accommodation and more.

Whatever they are, we all need to work together to keep the delegates, staff and our community safe.
